This Zuni pin shows an enormous amount of intricate inlay work. Two katsina-like figures surround an elaborate rainbow man. Dangling from the scene are arrowheads, coral chunks and an inlay center pendant. This is a fine example of the originality and creativity that takes place in Zuni jewelry. Here the artist has taken a more common Zuni figure like the Rainbow Man and reinterpreted it into a complex piece that is entirely different from others we've seen. The pin measures 3 3/8" wide x 3 3/4" long. It is unsigned, but looks like it could very well be the work of the Cellicion family of artists. A unique addition to our Zuni celebration dating circa 1950's or 1960's. Part of our summertime steals.
