Even in the 1940's, Zuni master jewelers were demonstrating an incredible amount of creativity in combination with technical excellence. We've never seen anything just like this bold bird pin, and we adore it. It was part of the ex-Linda Nelson collection and was said to be by master lapidarist Lambert Homer, but we are not certain. The magnificent pin shows careful selection of stone placement for a colorful impact. The wings are slightly raised and sculpted, something that only a few masters could do. The stamped silverwork is quite impressive as well. A perfect piece! The bird pin measures 3" wide x 1 7/8" tall. It dates circa 1940's.
