In the early 1990's, Yazzie Johnson and Gail Bird took their jewelry to new heights by incorporating stones carved by German lapidary artist Dieter Lorenz. This remarkable pendant of double onyx has been carved by Dieter Lorenz, and the carving gives the piece a gorgeous depth. Truly a stunning accomplishment of form and composition, the onyx stones have been brilliantly mounted in 18kt gold to highlight the crystalline depths of the stones contrasted against the matte surface. The mixture of the shapes in this pendant work so well together creating almost an anthropomorphic image. The pendant measures 3 1/2" x 1" and the leather strap hangs 17". The pendant is hallmarked with Yazzie and Gail's "GY" signature.
