Tonita Roybal was a superb potter from San Ildefonso. A great rival of the famous Maria Martinez, Tonita unfortunately died in the 1940's, and Maria became better known. This black on black feather plate is a striking example of Tonita Roybal's work. The large plate has an 11" diameter, and it is signed "Tonita." The plate was purchased for $2400 but it is being sold at a special price of $1700.
