Pamela F. Brown's pictoral weavings are often humerous looks at life on the Navajo reservation. This one is entitled "Surge the Chicken". In one small 10" x 16" weaving, Pamela tells the story of her aggressive chicken named Surge. Surge the chicken is so aggressive, in fact, that one day the Navajo Utilities truck was out servicing on the reservation and Surge the chicken came flying out at the men, pecking and scratching. The utility workers were so alarmed by Pamela's chicken that they put up a sign on the property that said "Beware of Chicken". What a great little piece documenting the event! It is signed by Pamela's pollen mark hallmark.
