This turquoise and silver needlepoint squash is by Zuni jeweler Sidney Hooee. It dates from the 1960's. The necklace also has a very interesting connection to the Nampeyo family of Hopi potters. It came to us from Hopi potter Dextra Quotskuyva and had been in her own collection for years. It came to her through her aunt, Daisy Hooey Nampeyo, who was the wife of Sidney Hooee. How wonderful! The hanging length is 14 1/2". The naja measures 3" long x 2 5/8" width. It is unsigned. Zuni.
