A Hopi katsina depicting Tasaf, the Navajo katsina, carved by Otto Pentewa of cottonwood root. Otto Pentewa was a noted Hopi carver who started working around 1910. He was known for creating katsinas that held unique posture. This katsina carries a carved rattle, wears a painted squash blossom necklace and has red fiber on his head. ca 1950. Height is 7 3/8"
