Here is a Nampeyo bowl. This polychrom, finely painted bowl is a classic example of a Nampeyo water vessel ca 1910. The piece also exhibits characteristic Nampeyo painted motifs symbolizing rain. The rounded form and front-tilting neck are typical Nampeyo shape. This piece has a break in the framing line and there are, indeed, documented vessels by Nampeyo with such a framing line break. This piece used to be in the collection of the Cape May New Jersey Historical Society. It has a 5 3/4” diameter. Unsigned.
Sorry, this piece has sold.
