Here is a wonderful polychrome pottery canteen by Nampeyo. It typifies a design that Nampeyo used. It's a personal sized canteen that Hopi men would take with them out into the field to get a drink of water. This vessel has a Polacca slip on the front face with a reverse side. The neck and handles are finished with a matte red pigment. ca 1890. There is a very old crack in an area of that face that is completely stable. No restoration or repaint. 6 3/4" width x 5" depth.
