This is a late 19th century Nampeyo jar deaccessioned from a southwest museum and sold by Lillian Miller, owner of 29 Steps Gallery in Los Angeles. This jar is of particular interest because the surface appears to be a combination of Polacca and Hano slip. It was exquisitely decorated by Nampeyo in a feminine pattern of flowers and scrolls with looping, red rim and a break in the framing line. The unusual jar dates 1895-1905. It measures 3 1/2" high x 7" wide. Unsigned. Part of our Spring pottery sale.
