Here is a miniature lidded basket of Nootka or Makah origin. It is an all-natural twined basket. Finely woven with a perfectly fitted lid, we still have the original purchase slip inside the basket. The basket maker was Annie Clappis, and it originally came from a museum gift shop. The basket measures 2 3/4" diameter, and it is unsigned. It is part of the ex-Gloria Teleki Collection. She wrote two books on basketry.
