One of a trio of Pueblo warriors that together won the judges choice at Heard Market 2011. This one is the tallest male Cochiti warrior and is by esteemed contemporary potters Lisa Holt and Harlan Reano. Lisa Holt, of Cochiti Pueblo, forms the pottery by hand while her husband, Harlan Reano, of Santo Domingo Pueblo, paints the designs. They use traditional methods like hand digging their clays from the earth, wood firing and natural paint pigments like wild spinach for the black. The warrior is painted with precision, his polka dotted body suit and his gloves and boots accentuate a powerful stance. A great additional detail is the warrior's spiked head. This is the reason that Lisa Holt and Harlan Reano have won numerous awards and have work displayed in the National Museum of the American Indian. The black and cream warrior comes on a custom made, museum quality mount so that he can stand perfectly. He stands 14 11/16" tall and 6" wide plus a 1/2" tall stand. Signed "Lisa Holt and Harlan Reano".
