This is the perfect piece of Christmas time Jemez pottery. It’s entitled "Flight into Egypt", and is a Biblical pottery scene by Linda Lucero Fragua. It depicts the biblical event when Joseph fled to Egypt with Mary and baby Jesus after Magi told them that King Herod intended to kill the infants in their area. The episode is frequently shown in art, and what a wonderful depiction this is. Here, Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus are wearing traditional American Indian garb.
