This impressive "Sikyatki Influence" jar by Les Namingha is a perfect fusion of past and present. This jar is reminiscent of Nampeyo's designs on early Hopi pottery but reconfigured to be wholly Les Namingha's own arrangement rather than a mere repetition of those on early Hopi pottery. To give the vessel a feeling of age, Les has used a variety of gels, which, when fired, give the surface an attractive crackled look. The jar measures 13" in diameter x 10 1/2" in height. It is signed "Les Namingha".
Here is a video of Les Namingha discussing this jar.
