An exquisite addition to our spring pottery sale is this water jar by Christina Narano, an accomplished member of the Tafoya family of potters. The blackware jar is very large and polished to perfection. It is finished with a rainbow band and two bear claw imprints. Interestingly, the bear paw or claw imprints appear on Santa Clara water vessels because a legend explains that it was a bear that led thirsty Santa Clara people to water during a dry spell. The piece measures 14 1/2" high x 12" diameter. Signed on the reverse.
Sorry, this has sold.
