Kenneth Begay Cotton Boll Bolo

X3864

This bolo was created by Kenneth Begay during the time that he worked at the White Hogan Shop in Scottsdale, Arizona in the 1950's. During that time, he was commissioned by an association of cotton growers to make silver jewelry objects to present to association members during their annual meeting in Phoenix. This wonderful bolo is one of those items. The bolo has a silver cotton boll on a braided leather strap that ends with tips of small rectangular cotton bales. The reverse of the cotton boll has two silver slides for the straps and is marked KB, STERLING, and has the hallmark of the White Hogan. Length of bolo is 18 inches. The actual cotton boll centerpiece on the bolo is 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" and the little bales of cotton on the tips are 3/4" long x 1/2" wide.
