Jody Naranjo Jar of Southwest Churches

X4348

This is such a gorgeous piece of Southwestern American Indian pottery, and such a perfect subject too! Jody Naranjo has entitled this jar "Southwest Churches." Jody has etched scenes of three different churches onto the jar's surface - the Saint Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe, a church in the little village of Truchas, New Mexico, and a church in California. Notice the other special scraffitto elements like a Pueblo village, mountain peaks, trees, and fish representing a river going through the villages. There is also a delicate scalloped rim. This exquisite jar measures 7 3/4" high with a 6" diameter. It is signed "Jody Naranjo 2010."
