Master potter Jody Naranjo just created this jar for us entitled "Women Potters." Using a technique called sgrafitto, Jody has used a knife to sketch onto her jar after it has been fired. The result is an incised background showing a row of women potters. Jody has won numerous awards for her gorgeous pottery including the sought-after "Best of Show" award at Santa Fe Indian Market. Jody digs her own clays, uses a traditional coil method, fires with wood and manure, and polishes with polishing stones. She frequently depicts women in her pottery. This jar is signed and is 4 3/4" in diameter.
