This Jake Koopee polychrome seed jar with a flared rim is such a lovely shape that is quite difficult to make when coiling by hand - especially achieving such gracefully slender walls. On this piece, Jake has depicted moths in a four-color design. Moths are a Nampeyo family motif that Jake has taken and made his own. Jake is Nampeyo of Hano's great-great grandson on his father's side. According to Jake, the little "x" designs that you see around the moths are fireflies. It is signed "Koopee 10". The dimensions are 5 5/8" high x 10 1/2 diameter.
