This Jake Koope jar is an especially complex rendition of the famous Hopi eagle tail pottery design. Jake Koopee has used five colors of natural pigment to paint it. The body of the vessel is decorated with highly refined human hands. Jake is always proud of his framing lines on the tops of his jars, and this particular framing line is a square shape. Marti Struever calls this jar "superb." It measures 6 1/2" diameter x 5" high. It is signed "Koopee" with his flute player symbolizing his clan.
This jar can be viewed and purchased at the Case Trading Post in the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian in Santa Fe.
