Jake Koopee has impressed us yet again with this jar. Using 6 colors of natural pigment, Jake Koopee has hand-painted an especially complex design of geometric and swirl motifs with stippling. Interestingly, for this piece, Jake has painted two levels of square framing lines, which play such a contrast to the roundness of the jar itself. The piece measures 10 1/4 diameter x 6" high. It is signed "Koopee" with a painted flute player symbolizing Jake's flute player clan.
This jar can be viewed and purchased at the Case Trading Post in the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian in Santa Fe.
