Here is a terrific little polychrome canteen by Ida Sahmie. The canteen depicts a Yei figure and a rainbow. It is 4" in height. It is unsigned. Ida Sahmie is a Navajo woman, but she is married to a Hopi man, so she makes her pottery in the Hopi tradition, using Hopi clay but often painted with Navajo imagery. In this canteen, you can see the Navajo imagery as she has used a yei figure. What a unique combination of cultures!
