Ida Sahmie has an extraordinary talent for combining images from her Navajo heritage with Hopi pottery materials. A Navajo scene with hogan, ramada, sheep and mesas is painted around the uptter walls of this bowl while the bottom has been flecked with four sacred colors in each quarter of the vessel. The far interior has been painted with a classic Navajo wedding basket pattern. 6" diameter x 3 1/2" high. Signed I. Sahmie, 07 DINE.
