This pretty letter opener is actually a piece of history. The ingot silver letter opener dates circa 1900-1910, and it displays all of the best traditional techniques of the time like stamping, repousse and setting of natural turquoise. Remember that at the time, tools were much more primitive, so to achieve this amount of detail is amazing. Notice the intricate stamping - there are arrows and even two tiny whirling logs. The letter opener shows a bit of wear just beautifully. It measures 7 1/2" long x 1 1/8" wide. unsigned. Part of our summertime steals.
