We don't usually collect a lot of Northwest Coast pieces unless it is something really special. These early silver sugar tongs are something special, indeed. Dating from 1895, the silver tongs are heavily stamped and etched with images of a fish and a bear on either side. The tines themselves are stamped and cut out to resemble bear claws. At the top of the sugar tongs is written "Sitka 1895". They measure 3 3/4".
