Marti Struever recently gave a talk at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, where she traced the evolution of silverworking through concho belts. She used this early 2nd phase concho belt as a shining example because it is just so good. Dating circa 1910-1920, this incredible belt has one rectangular silver buckle set with 6 natural turquoise stones and repousse along with 6 oval conchos with repousse diamonds in the center. There is intricate stamping, punch and file work on the unsigned Navajo belt. The buckle measures 3 7/8" wide and each concho measures 4" wide. The belt is on its original leather.
