This gorgeous polychrome wedding vase is entitled "Swooping Birds" This vessel was created in 1999 by Dextra Quotskuyva and is illustrated in the book "Painted Perfection" on plate 24. On the piece, Dextra has delicately painted her interpretation of Sityatki birds. Sityatki is a pre-Hopi ancestral site with broken up pieces of pottery that have painted designs, which inspire contemporary Hopi potters. Bird feathers represent prayers to Hopi deities. The dimensions are 12 1/2" in height x 6 3/4" diameter. It is signed "Dextra"
