This very special Dextra Quotskuyva jar is from Marti's own private collection. It is entitled "Faces," and it is illustrated in Marti's book on Dextra entitled "Painted Perfection" - page 74. Dextra's painting on this vessel is derived from Sityatki images on vessels. Sityatki is a pre-Hopi ancestral site with broken up pottery of all kinds. The pottery sherds found at the site have inspired Hopi potters to paint in a similar style deemed Sityatki-style pottery. The piece is signed "Dextra."
