Della Casa Appa was one of the first female Zuni jewelers. She is known for superb inlay and very good silverwork. These amazing knifewing dangle earrings are attributed to Della Casa Appa. Notice how each of the stones is raised and curved rather than flush with the silver. This is a very difficult technique that only the most skilled jeweler would have been able to achieve. Also quite notable are great details like the little silver arrows dangling from each knifewings' feet. We've never seen any earrings just like these. They're simply incredible. Dating circa 1920's, they dangle 2 1/4" long. Unsigned, they're for pierced ears. Enjoy this rare addition to our post-market sale.
