In our jewelry estate sale are several pieces believed to be the work of Dan Simplicio. This one is a silver ring with a tufa cast shank over which 3 natural turquoise cabs and a long red coral stone are set. Interestingly, Dan Simplicio returned from fighting in World War II injured but inspired by the Roman laurel leaves he had seen in Italy. He made his own leaf design and incorporated that into his jewelry. You can see Dan's leaf design in this ring that is, most likely, Dan Simplicio's work but unsigned. The ring is circa 1950's. It is size 6 1/2. The center of the ring is 1 1/16" tall x 3/4" wide.
