A classic bat wing motif encircles this yellow bowl by Hopi/Tewa potter Garnet Pavatea. Garnet was born in 1915. Up until her death in 1981, she received over 100 awards. The beautiful simplicity of this pottery bowl coupled with the relative complexicty of the bat wing painting makes for a lovely combination. The piece was handmade in the traditional manner by Garnet Pavatea in the 1970's. Larger in size, the bowl measures 10" in diamter x 4" tall. It is signed on the reverse.
