X3510

Here is a beautiful large Navajo basket by Alicia Nelson. Alicia Nelson is the daughter-in-law of Mary Holiday Black, the matriarch of Navajo basket weaving. Therefore, Alicia has learned from the best around, and it shows. This basket depicts a night way ceremony. It shows the four sacred plants of squash, corn, tobacco and beans along with four figures, four directions and four sacred colors. Dyed with natural and native pigments, this Navajo basket is finely coiled and unsigned. The basket has a 17" diameter.
