This remarkable squash blossom necklace is part of our jewelry estate sale. This is the "box bow" style of squash blossom necklace, a style that was heavily favored and worn by Navajos during the 1940's and 1950's. This piece is superbly crafted of silver strung on a double row of handmade silver beads with a full 20 box bow blossoms, each one set with a single natural Burnham turquoise piece. The necklace ends in a Naja with three matching turquoise cabs. It is tied with a Native wrap indicating that it was, most likely, made for Native Americans rather than for the art market. If you're looking for a wonderful squash blossom necklace, this is the one! We are dating it circa 1945. It measures 14 7/8" long. The naja measures 1 13/16" wide x 1 5/8" tall. It is unsigned.
Sorry, this piece has sold.
