Charles Loloma Bracelet of Silver and Pearl

C409

This absolutely elegant bracelet is by Charles Loloma. Charles Loloma called this his "trough" style because the ends of the bracelet are turned up to form a channel or a "trough". The piece is tufa cast of silver, and it has the most beautiful arm extending off the bracelet and holding a natural pearl. Although unsigned, this piece has an excellent provonance - given as a gift by Charles Loloma to Winfield Parks, a photographer for National Geographic, working at Hopi, who got to know Charles quite well. Charles Loloma gifted this piece in 1967. There is a very similar bracelet in Martha Struever's Loloma book pictured on page 64, figure 40. The bracelet has a 5 1/2" inside circumference. The width across the top without the arm is 3/8" tapering down to smaller terminals. The arm extends out 1". The opening between terminals is 1 1/4".
