Charlene Reano is a darling of Santo Domingo inlay jewelry. Married into the well-known Reano family of Santo Domingo (now Kewa) inlay jewelry artists, award-winning jeweler Charlene Reano works in a style that harkens back to pre-historic inlay jewelry work. The central part of this necklace is an reversible shell pendant adorned with delicate mosaic inlay of turquoise, shell, lapis, and other stones. On one side, the pendant is dominated by bright blue turquoise, and on the other side, the pendant is dominated by a deeper colored, multi-stone effect. The pendant is strung on double strands of rare natural melon shell. A final accent is two mosaic inlay cubes interspersed on the necklace. The necklace hangs 11" long and the shell pendant measures 1 5/8" height x 7/8" width. The piece is unsigned. Entirely handmade.
